PMAY (Urban) – Central Govt. Sanctioned 1,00,537 more Houses

Central Government approved construction of 1,00,537 more houses for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U). Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation will invest around Rs. 4,200/- crore in this housing projects. Amount of investment is 307% more than the amount provided in financial year 2004-14. After adding new approved houses over all amount for PMAY-U is Rs. 1,00,466 crore for PMAY-U.

  • No. of Sanctioned Houses: 1,00,537 Houses
  • Budget Allotted: Rs. 4,200/- crore

Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA) Ministry approved around 18,75,389 houses to construct for (EWS) Economically Weaker Sections. Houses will be available to people in 2,151 cities & towns in 34 States/UTs.
On the other side HUPA sanctioned 13.80 lakh houses with an investment of Rs. 32,009 crore in year 2004-15.

List of Newly Sanctioned Houses

Different numbers of Houses will provided in different locations, we have mentioned below:

  • 57,131 houses in Madhya Pradesh
  • 24,576 houses in Tamil Nadu
  • 6,231 houses in Manipur
  • 4,898 houses in Chhattisgarh
  • 4,261 houses in Gujarat
  • 2,389 houses in Assam
  • 643 hoses in Kerala
  • 331 houses in Jharkhand
  • 77 houses in Daman & Diu

After approval of investment of Rs. 29,409 includes amount for Central & State Assistance & Contribution/Donation of beneficiaries.
Madhya Pradesh is on the top overall list of states in getting approvals over 2.66 lakh houses sanctioned with a total investment of Rs 18,283 crore under PMAY (Urban).
Rs. 1 lakh to Rs 2.35 lakh will be provide to beneficiary on each dwelling unit as financial assistance.
