PMAY (Urban) – Center Approves 30,000 Houses in Maharashtra

A plan by Raynagar Cooperative Housing Federation & Monitoring Committee to construct 30,000 houses for urban poor has been approved by Central Government under PM Awas Yojana (Urban). A central assistance has been sanctioned by Housing & Urban Affairs Ministry (HUA). Construction of houses will be done on private land of Sholapur, Maharashtra.
This can be considered as first project being implemented on private land under PMAY (Urban).

This housing project aims to provide houses to beedi & textile workers & urban poor families belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS). An estimated cost of this project is Rs. 1,811 crore.

Center also approved 2,84,803 houses under PMAY-Urban in 6 states with central assistance of Rs. 4,272 crore. Here we have briefly mentioned all sanctioned houses:

For the completion of this project financial assistance by Central & State Government would be provided, as mentioned below:

  • Central Financial Assistance – Rs. 450 crore
  • State Financial Assistance – Rs. 300 crore

Earlier all housing projects under center’s flagship were implemented on land provided by state & municipal corporations. Private land has been incorporated to speed up Maharashtra Housing Project in required urban areas.

189 hectare land has been acquired to accomplish this housing project & all proposed beneficiaries are Aadhar linked.
Cost of houses is Rs. 6,03,777/- along with central & state assistance out of which Rs. Delivery price of house is Rs. 3,53,777/-
