PMAY has been getting momentum as most of the houses are likely to be sanctioned in Maharashtra, moving forward in this direction Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MHUPA) has allowed 1,44,165 houses. As PM’s Affordable Housing Scheme has been working to provide houses to LIG & MIG candidates, Construction of houses would be done under PMAY-Urban. Keeping high demand of houses in the state, houses have been sanctioned.
As per sources, due o the high demand of houses, cost of ready to move in properties can be estimated over Rs. 1 crore. Thus it becomes very hard for a poor family to buy their own house.
To achieve the target of Housing for All by 2022, government is likely to be associated with private developers or builders through PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model. Rate of allotted houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is over 39%.
Government has associated with banks to provide home loan to candidates & has extended CLSS (Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme) for home loan over Rs. 12 lakh.
