Punjab Government will be constructed 10,000 new houses in rural area of Punjab state under Pradhan Mantri Housing Scheme (Rural) in the financial year 2020-21. Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Punjab, Sh. Tripit Rajinder Singh Bajwa also said that the state government of Punjab has approached the central government to bring more beneficiaries of Punjab under this scheme.
Sh. Tripit Rajinder Singh Bajwa said that the matter has been taken up with the ministry of Rural Development. A team of experts form government will visit the border districts of Punjab to understand the situation of roofing of the villages and provided guidelines on the construction of raw houses for the state of Punjab.
The minister further informed that the amount of Rs.1.20 lakh is given to the beneficiaries for construction of new houses under this housing scheme 2020. The amount for new house will be given to beneficiaries in 3 installments. under the Magnarega scheme, these beneficiaries are provided RS.21,690/- for 90 days wages and Rs. 12,000/- for constructing toilets. Thus, total benefit of Rs. 1,53,690/- is provided to each eligible family for the construction of their house.
Mr. Bajwa also said that not only a house is provided to the poor families but all basic amenities like clean drinking water of the National Rural Drinking Water Program (NRDWP) scheme, Prime Minister Ujjavala Ojwala. Electric gas cylinders from PMUY, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGGKy) provide electricity connection to eligible families.
