Implementation of PM Awas Yojana Thane May Get Delayed

Central government has approved 21,000 low cost dwelling units to be constructed under PM Awas Yojana out of which round 3,000 houses were sanctioned in Thane. Responsibility of the execution PMAY Thane was handed over to TMC (Thane Municipal Corporation). As per sources, implementation of Thane Low Cost Housing Project is excepted to be delayed. Since proposal was carried out before issuing GST, now TMC needs to make amendments into overall cost of Thane Housing Project.

4 housing projects were sanctioned to make dream of housing come true & to make affordable houses easily available to poor people.

A budge of Rs. 414 crore was approved for constructing 3,000 low cost houses, which would be constructed within 5 years. Above said budget was prepared on basis of old rate of material that was required for construction. Revisions on rates can be made.

Area of houses will be 30 sq. meter & the cost of houses can be estimated Rs. 10 lakh. As per revised rules, either number of houses can be increased to be sold on same rate or decrease number of houses.
