Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) soon going to start demand survey for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) on 12th June 2017 under Housing for All mission. Demand survey will cover all 93 Urban Local Bodies (ULB) including GMC, Town Committees & Municipality Boards.
Government targets to provide affordable houses to around 2 lakh families in Assam. Demand survey has been started in 96 ULB’s excluding GMC. To obtain demand related data survey will be begin on 12 June 2017. Distribution & submission of application forms will be free to every candidate.
“This is the first comprehensive government scheme in the post-Independence era that offers housing to such a wide range of income groups. Houses will be provided in four tailor-made verticals under the mission. They are In-situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR), Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), and Beneficiary Led Construction and Enhancement (BLC/BLE) of the dwelling unit,” said an official statement.
Government aims to provide affordable houses to EWS families having monthly income Rs. 25,000 or less. Size of house will be 30 sq. meter including
- Proper Water Supply
- Electricity Connection
- Sanitary Toilets
Benefits of Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) is easily available for candidates with annual income of Rs. 1.5 lakh & wishing to buy house by taking loan from bank.
