Delhi Master Plan 2041 – DDA & National Institute of Urban Affairs Ties up

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) & National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to prepare Master Plan 2041 for Delhi. An official said that Delhi Master Plan 2021 was not much successful because it focused on displacing people, which was not a permanent solution.

Due to the high demand of shelters or dwelling units for people belonging to various categories, authority needs to prepare a plan to resolve housing related problems.
Major concern of this master plan was regarding to unauthorized colonies & Jhuggi settlements.
To implement Master Plan 2041, NIUA will associate with national & international experts.

Delhi Master Plan 2041 would work into 4 various phases in association with quantitative understanding of Delhi on local & regional levels, which will address concerns of Master Plan 2021 misfits. All phases will be separate from each other.
Under Master Plan 2021 Delhi had been developed in unplanned manner causing lack of services, shrunken technology & changing needs.

Draft for sectoral planning is also expected to be provided by Master Plan 2041, which will include traditional sector & emerging sector as well.
