2.5 lakh homeless families of pune district will be listed as beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.2.5 lakh families get benefits of affordable housing scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Pune whch aims to provide housing for all by 2022. The district administration survey has estimated that the families are spread across the two corporation area of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad and 13 municipal councils.
The aim of providing these 2.5 lakh houses by the year 2022 and this can be achieved by constructing 50 thousand homes every year for the next 5 years. District collector of Pune Saurabh Rao will be submitting a proposal in this regard to the state governments by April 30.
On 30th March chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had asked all district collector to send him two proposals to push forward the scheme.The survey already has been conducted by the district administration for housing housing and nearly 2.5 lakh families in the list for whom housing units will be constructed and aim is to complete 50,000 units per year. 7 councils out of the 13 councils in the 1st phase where 14,000 houses will be constructed. District collector Saurabh Rao said b/w two corportions, 36000 houses will be constructed.
Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA)will draw up a plan and execute the project.The district administration has already made land available in Shirur,Talegaon,Lonavla,Chakan, which fall under councils and chincholi and charoli, under Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
The GR states that the committee should look into clearing hurdles pertaining to land acquisition, tendering process or administrative approvals faced by the authority.
