Government is targeting to construct 17 lakh houses in Rajasthan under PM Narendra Modi’s flagship scheme PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana). This announcement has been made by Rajasthan Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Rajendra Rathore.
To implement this project a huge amount of investment is required. According to estimation Rs. 1,561 crore will be spent over construction, which will be contributed by Central & State Government. Rs. 937 crore will be provided by Central Government & rest of the amount will be given by State Government.
Out of 17 lakh dwelling units, construction of 8.7 houses have been done. To accomplish Housing for All mission 1.6 lakh housing units will be constructed in upcoming 3-4 months.
7.17 lakh allotment letters have been allotted by government by organizing special campaign named as Deendayal Upadhyaya Land Allotment Campaign.
Target to construct 17 lakh affordable dwelling units is expected to be achieved in within few months. So that houses are easily available to weaker section of the society.
