1.12 Lakh more Affordable Houses to be Built under PMAY (Urban) Housing Scheme

The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has approved construction of nearly 1.12 lakh more affordable houses for urban poor in 8 states under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and sanctioned Rs.1681 crore for these affordable houses. as per officially information Andra Pradesh bagging the largest share of over 37,000 housing units.

According to the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, which is mandated to implement the scheme, the total number of houses being funded under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) the is close to 55 lakh across the country so far, reports PTI. Last month, the committee also sanctioned construction of 2.67 lakh affordable houses for the poor in 10 states.

Beneficiary States under PMAY Housing Scheme

Madhya Pradesh state has been sanctioned 34,680 affordable houses in 25 cities at an investment of Rs.3,080 crore with central assistance of Rs.520 crore.Haryana will get 24,221 houses in 28 cities at an investment of Rs.1,721 crore and central assistance of Rs.363 crore.The details of houses sanctioned in eight states are given below

Maharashtra under Affordable Housing in Partnership component under BLC component, another 16104 new houses will be buit in Madhya pradesh, 9836 new houses in Kerala, 5131 in Maharashtra & 3270 in Mizoram. BLC component help beneficiaries build houses on the land owned by them
