Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis and Union transport minister Nitin Gadkri has announced affordable houses for the city. Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) has initated work on this scheme.
According to the information provided by the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) chairman Deepak Mhaisekar, the construction work had commenced on affordable housing in Wathoda. The authority are constructing 264 flats for EWS (economically weaker section). Mr. Deepak Mhaisekar said that excavation is going on.The work of dewatering the land is going on because groundwater level is very high.
Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) chairman Deepak Mhaisekar said that on prices of the flats, there was some ambiguity on goods and services tax (GST) rate, will be either 12% or 18%.
NIT chairman Deepak Mhaisekar said total 4,600 economically weaker section (EWS) flats will be constructed under this new affordable housing scheme and the detailed project report of Tarodi Buzurg (Umred Road) would be examined by the urban development department (UDD) this weak.
Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) also plans to construct low income group (LIG) flats at Wanjri. These residential flats will be construct for those families whose income is between Rs.3 lakh to Rs.6 lakh per annum. The cost of a flat will be around Rs.12 lakh.NIT has received more than 16,000 applications under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and The authority will construct houses for all the applicants.
